Warrel Dane (1961-2017) was an American vocalist and songwriter best known as the frontman of the progressive metal band Nevermore and the earlier group Sanctuary. Dane co-founded Sanctuary in 1985, releasing notable albums like *Refuge Denied* (1987) and *Into the Mirror Black* (1990). He later formed Nevermore in 1991, which gained critical acclaim for albums such as *Dead Heart in a Dead World* (2000) and *This Godless Endeavor* (2005).
